May Your Core Self Be With You
Our Core Self is our truest self.
It’s the Self that represents the age we are, the growth we have integrated, and the person we hope to be.
It’s our most mature self.
Our most regulated self.
Our higher self.
Spirit led self✨
Our Core Self is built with
open hands,
a curious mind,
a compassionate heart,
a humble foundation,
a soft front and a strong spine.
Our Core Self makes the best decisions for us and sees with a perspective of grace, growth, and awareness of shared humanity and our collective human experience. Our Core Self is not our “parts.”
think about it this way…
When our PHYSICAL core is engaged our spine is protected.
When our physical core is engaged and someone comes up to us and pushes us over we are able to stay upright.
When our physical core is engaged and developed our bodies will suffer less injury and pain. 💪🏼
The same can be true with our internal core.
Our Core Self.
When our Core Self is engaged our values (spine)
are protected.
When our Core Self is engaged we are less thrown down by others pushing or bumping into us.
When our Core Self is engaged we experience less suffering and pain and more flexibility🤸🏽🧘🏾
As explored in the IFS theory (Internal Family Systems) these are qualities we experience when Core Self is engaged.
✨Curiosity
✨Compassion
✨Clarity
✨Connectedness
✨Creativity
✨Courage
✨Confidence
✨Calm
✨Patience
✨Presence
✨Persistence
✨Perspective
✨Playfullness
Truth is, we will not always live into these qualities, but what if these were our home base?
A place we can invite ourselves to come home to.
🔍What if we were intentional about cultivating and strengthening our Core Self?
🔍 Do you know this Self?=
🔍Would you like to know this Self better?
🔍What hijacks this Core Self from driving the car of your life?
🔍What sets this Self free to lead?
✨Lean back, inhale deeply, drop your shoulders, unclench your jaw, lengthen your spine, exhale fully, remember who you are at your core, go with that.
